Chamuyando bajito was formed in 2014 as a meeting point for Argentine and European artists brought together by a shared obsession: tango told from the inside. Based in Stuttgart, with one foot firmly in Buenos Aires, the project moves between continents, accents and traditions, exploring a living, contemporary approach to tango.
Their music is rooted in traditional tango and traces its evolution across the decades to the present day. The repertoire draws on the sounds of the street, neighbourhood gatherings and the pulse of the dance floor. Chamuyando bajito performs both in intimate concert settings and in milongas, where the music finds its natural place in movement.
In 2020, the project expanded its artistic scope with the publication of a book of short stories and illustrations. Emerging from the songs, the travels and lived tango experience, these texts extend the work beyond the stage and offer another way into this world.
In 2024, recording began on the group's debut album in Buenos Aires, marking a decade of shared encounters. Musicians from the Buenos Aires tango scene, alongside artists from the jazz and rock scenes, took part in the studio sessions, leaving their imprint on the music. The album was released in early 2026 and continues to accompany this journey as its soundtrack.
